What is Evaporative Cooling?

The world is becoming more sensitive to the term “green” and what it means to our environment and the health of our planet. You may have even heard terms like "solar panels" and "evaporative cooling" bandied about. Many companies are rushing to redefine their products and business practices to “go green.” Some companies, however, have always been green without even trying to be politically correct. It was just the right thing to do. Port-A-Cool, LLC, is one of those companies. For example, the flagship product for the company is the Port-A-Cool® portable evaporative cooling unit. What is evaporative cooling? If you ever jumped in a swimming pool and felt that little chill as you got out when the wind blew, that's evaporative cooling. If you've ever been outside on a warm day long enough to build up a sweat and felt that chill when that coveted little breeze blows through, that's evaporative cooling. All natural, environmentally-friendly and uses only tap water and 115v of electricity to make nice cool air.

  How Does it Work?

ppp Granted, evaporative cooling is a fairly simple concept, but even simplicity can be perfected. Port-A-Cool, LLC, has created a portable evaporative cooling unit that has perfected this simple cooling process. No fuss, no complicated assembly, no crazy high electric bills ... just cool air using a pump, a motor, cooling pads and a fan blade. Port-A-Cool® units are ready to operate right out of the box. Here's how it works: The water is pulled into the pads with a spray bar, wetting the pads. Then, the fan blade pulls air through the pads, causing the water to evaporate, creating natural evaporative cooling for just pennies a day.
